When the sun’s shining, most of my lot like to indulge in one of the more traditional cat pastimes – Following the Indoor Sun. They’re such a predictable bunch that you can practically set your watch by them – I’m sure your cats are the same!
7.30am – 9.00am: left side of living room.
9.00am – 10.30am: right side of living room.
Then a four hour interval while the sun travels around the side of the terrace we live in….
2.30pm – early evening: kitchen.
Martha, on the other hand, is very much an outdoor kind of girl, and is reluctant to waste valuable looking-for-stuff-to-kill time by following the sun around the flat.
Poor Alfie’s not been able to pluck up enough courage to venture down to the garden again this week – next door have a table outside covered in plastic sheeting, which is proving to be a scary old business every time it rustles in the wind! So instead he’s hung around in the kitchen doorway gazing wistfully at the other cats outside having fun. Never mind, I’m sure he’ll get there in the end!
