Here’s a collection of some very fine cat purses and make up bags designed and made by UK Etsy Sellers.
These two look like they could trash a room in 5 seconds flat! The Naughty Kittens Vanity Case, £22.22 by London-based designer Kate Garey, measures 18cm x 10cm and is made from recycled polka dot canvas with a floral lining and interior pockets. Kate also has a wide range of items for sale on her own website.
The Cat Illustration Screen Printed Make Up Bag, £15.00 (14cm x 18.5cm), is by another London-based designer, Roxy Leaver. The tabby cat motif is screen printed onto cotton floral fabric, which is reinforced with canvas for added strenth. Roxy also writes a design and lifestlyle blog.
The Stripey Cat Vintage Fabric Zip Purse, £14.50 (22cm x 16.5cm), is by Brighton-based Lisa Jane, and features a rather confused-looking lothario. This zippered pouch is made from vintage and retro fabrics, and lined with a deep-red cotton.
The Wish You Were Here Coin Purse ,£13.08 (18cm x 12cm), is by Derby-based Sarah Culleton and made from fabric which has been printed with images from Sarah’s childhood postcard collection – the back of the purse features the handwritten side of the card.
This super-cute Sleeping Cat Coin Purse ,£11.77 (11cm x 10cm), by Felt So Cool from Cardiff, is made from a cotton/linen blend fabric, with a felt cat on one side, and lined with a floral cotton.
The Cat Burglar Coin Purse, £9.00 (14cm x 11.5cm), is by Scatter Box Originals from Falmouth, and is made from cotton flannelette lined with a navy blue and white polka dot cotton. The cheeky cat character is El Bandido a ‘cad and a trickster’ who has been appliqued in felt.
