March Giveaway – Cat Hats by Kitty Barnett

cat hats by kitty barnett

Everyone like funny cat pics, right?  But none of us cat lovers are comfortable with the idea of stressed-out kitties being trussed-up in costumes for the sake of human entertainment.  Here’s where Cat Hats by Kitty Barnett comes in handy: this little book contains 16 different paper hats, which are so lightweight that you can pop one on the bonce of a snoozing feline, snap a hilarious photo/video, and your cat won’t even notice!

Cat Hats by Kitty Barnett is available in paperback for £7.99 from Hardie Grant, but one lucky Cool For Cats UK reader can win my review copy. (Which, I should add, is in pristine condition – I promise I won’t cut any of the hats out!)  To enter the giveaway just leave a comment at the end of this post.  Entries must be received before midnight 31st March 2013.  Winner will be chosen by a random electronic draw on 1st April 2013 (only one entry per person, please), and notified by email.   This giveaway is open to addresses anywhere in the world!

The hats in this book are very easy to construct – you just cut them out as one piece and slot the headband together.  The designs range in theme and silliness, from conventional hats, such as a crown, a bowler hat and a beanie, to more off-the-wall headgear, like a banana and a cupcake.

Here’s Percy (obviously a Velvet Underground fan), and Kandy – who’s looking jolly gangsta in a Fluff Daddy Beanie:

Any photos that you take of your cats in their paper hats would be just the thing for homemade cards (yes, there is a Father Christmas one!), as well as Facebook pics etc.  If you do decide to turn your hand to your own cat-in-a-hat stylee stationery, the quirky modern fonts and graphics in this book will provide further inspiration.  The book also contains plenty of cute and funny cat photos, which could be cut out and used in your own designs too.

OK, now I’m going to put Cat Hats back into its jiffy bag and tuck it away out of reach, before I succumb to the temptation to cut out the Suzie Sunday hat and snap Eric wearing it.  Yes, it would be the funniest thing ever, but it’s against International Giveaway Regulations to help yourself to the merchandise!

Here’s Chelsea in hers instead:

What a brilliant idea, who doesn’t like to put something on our pets (as long as it doesn’t upset them) and get a photo. Cats are harder than dogs in my experience, so this is perfect!
