May Giveaway! Win a Litterlocker ll – the Ultimate Cat Litter Disposal System

litterlocker ll - ultimate cat litter disposal system

The lovely people from LitterLocker UK are kindly giving three lucky Cool for Cats UK readers the chance to win a LitterLocker II – the ultimate cat litter disposal system! (Find out how to enter the giveaway at the end of this post.)

litterlocker ll - ultimate cat litter disposal system

The LitterLocker II is designed to be used with clumping cat litter, and provides a convenient, completely odour-free method of storing cat poo and clumped litter for up to 2 weeks for one cat – which will save you a fair few trips to the dustbin while trying to hold a grocery bag in such a way that none of the soiled litter drops out through the safety holes!

The LitterLocker II is very easy to use – simply open the lid and drop your cat’s latest downloads into the bin, then pull the handle to allow the soiled litter to fall to the bottom of the bag, and release the handle to create an air-tight seal on the bag.

Here’s a useful video which demonstrates the whole procedure very nicely (lumps of coal are used as poo substitutes, so it’s safe to watch this if you’re eating!):

When the bag is full, you open the unit, cut the bag free and dispose of it, and then pull more film from the refill, tie a knot in the end to create a new bag and pull it to the bottom of the bin.  Each refill cartridge lasts for 2 months on average for one cat.  (Which saves an estimated 60 grocery bags.)

The LitterLocker II has a reasonably unobtrusive design, is lightweight and doesn’t take up much room – it measures W22cm x D23cm x H24cm.  It comes with a litter scoop (which sits neatly in a holder on the side of the unit) and your first refill cartridge.

I’ve never used a LitterLocker, but having read the Amazon UK Customer Reviews, I think I’ll treat myself to one – it’ll certainly be an improvement on my current Pedal Bin Liner in an Airtight Bread Bin system!

To find a LitterLocker II stockist in your area, check out  And if you’re planning a trip to the London Pet Show 2014 on the 17th and 18th May, you’ll be able to find LitterLocker UK on Stand 208 in the Cat Zone.

  26. Natacha from TheSortingHouse here (just to avoid confusion with the email address) – we recently got a new addition to the kitty family and are now finding ourselves scooping a fair bit more poop. We were looking at getting one of these to save the trip up and down stairs several times a day and stinky bins, they look fab! So it would be amazing to win one and spend the money on lots of kitty toys instead! If you want you can check out my two in action at Good luck everybody 🙂 x

  36. What a great product! I have an indoor cat and I have physical disabilities so something like this would save me a lot of unnecessary pain. At the moment I have to bag the ‘clumps’ from my cat’s litter several times a day using nappy sacks- this adds extra weight to my household bin and I have to get other people to empty it for me (I hate bothering people). I have liked the page & my Facebook name is Denise McSpadden 🙂

  37. lynn mitchell

  44. Clare Kendick

We’ve had a litter locker for years, couldn’t be without it it’s fab. Although pets at home have stopped doing the refills for them which is annoying but we’ve found the ones for nappy disposal fit them just them the same so happy days!

  45. Wendy Tibby Brown

This sounds like an environmentally more friendly solution – an alternative to using so many bin bags. Great idea!

  46. This would come in very useful for our Maine Coon housecat Jess.

  48. Very practical.

  54. I’d like one of these … 4 cats & 5 litter trays on the go here and no sooner do I clean them out and put new litter in … off we go again before I’ve even got the first lot out to the bin – lol . It’d save me quite a few trips to the outside bin a day which would be very welcome:) =^..^=

  55. Michelle Dennis

This is awesome. We have 2 indoor cats one is a very neat toilet user, the other redecorates the bathroom every time he uses the tray!!! This beats emptying it every 5 minutes!!!
