Molly’s Mice are based in York and produce these lovely vintage-look catnip mice. Each mouse is handmade from 100% cotton and filled with 5g of premium North American catnip.
These toys have been rigorously tested by Molly, a very beautiful Maine Coone who heads a feline quality control team. You can see pictures and videos of Molly and friends hard at work on the Molly’s Mice Facebook page.
Andy from Molly’s Mice sent one of their toys for the HQ Cats to sample, and it’s proved rather popular. I can certainly confirm that the catnip used in these products is of a superior turbo-charged variety – even I think it smells nice! In fact it’s been causing me a few problems, as invariably several cats want to play with the mouse at once which means I have to act as referee.
The mouse in question has been wrestled with, thrown around, chewed and dribbled on by 6 cats for a fortnight, and I’m pleased to say it’s withstood the abuse very well.
These catnip mice are available from the Molly’s Mice website, and from Etsy and Folksy. They usually cost £3.49 each, or £6.49 for 2, but Andy has kindly given Cool For Cats UK readers a discount code (valid until 31/05/12), which will knock 50p off the price when used on the Molly’s Mice website, and give you a 15% discount in their Etsy Shop. All you need to do is enter COOL4CAT at the checkout when making your purchase.
And now here’s a video of Stuart, one of my foster cats, demonstrating just how much fun there is to be had with one of Molly’s Mice.
