Wag-A-Tude Pet Tags – Will Appeal to Your Cat’s Sense of Individuality!

cats-canines-wagitude-collar-tags1As anyone who has even so much as glanced at a ‘women’s’ magazine will know, it is essential to have a capsule wardrobe of design classics.  But a capsule wardrobe of design classics alone is not enough to mark you out as a Perfect Woman: society will judge you by your choice of accessories.  (I prefer to ignore any How to Be a Perfect Woman rules I may encounter, and favour the cover-yourself-in-glue-and-roll-through-a-charity-shop approach to putting an outfit together, and then I accessorise with cat hair; but that’s another story.)

Thankfully cats aren’t dictated to by stupid magazines; they take pride in their individuality and can wear whatever they like.  But they are partial to a nice safety collar accessory.  So they may well approve of the Wag-A-Tude range of i.d. tags from Cat and Canines, which features a variety of designs to cater for a broad spectrum of feline tastes.

Wag-A-Tude pet tags are manufactured from a recycled steel inner and then coated with polymer, which infuses the images permanently to the tag ensuring a durable, high-quality finish.  Tags can be printed with up to five lines of text with as many as 20 characters per line.

Measures 22mm.

Wag-A-Tude pet tags are available from Cats and Canines for £8.99 (split ring included).

Luxury Leather Safety Collars by Cheshire & Wain – for the Pampered Puss!

cheshire-and-wain-colour-pop-collectionCheshire & Wain are purveyors of luxury leather safety collars for the UK’s pampered pusscats.  The company is the brain child of Londoner, Sonja Farell, who was inspired to create her range of high-end collars by her own pampered puss, the beautiful Mr Percy Wells (Percy to his friends).

At first glance, the collars appear to be of the standard (and dangerous!) buckle fastened variety, but a closer inspection reveals a discreetly placed safety catch (as demonstrated by Mr Percy Wells above and below).  Nifty, no?

Cheshire & Wain Colour Pop Collars (see top photo) are available in a swathe of contemporary hues.  Each collar is made from vegetable tanned Italian leather, and incorporates a brass buckle and bell, in addition to the discreet safety catch.  Priced from £35.00.

Please note: these collars are not suitable for kittens or cats weighing less than 2.5kg, as the safety release buckle will only open under pressure from weights of 2.5kg or more.

Cheshire & Wain also produce these two brass animal skull collar charms, which I absolutely love – they’d make great key rings or pendants too!

Bat Skull Charm and Raven Skull Charm, available for £19.00 each.

February Giveaway: Personalised Cat Safety Collars from Kitty Collars!

personalised cat safety collars from kitty collars

This month the lovely people at Kitty Collars are offering 5 lucky Cool for Cats UK readers the chance to win one of their Personalised Cat Collars!

Personalised Cat Collars are a great way to ensure your contact details are easily visible should your cat become lost, and can also be used to draw attention to health conditions which require a special diet (ie diabetes).  Or maybe the cat in your life is on the tubby side, and you’d like to prevent kindly neighbours from being hoodwinked into providing extra meals!

Never rely on a collar as the sole means of identifying your cat should he or she become lost – always ensure your cat is microchipped too.

To enter the giveaway please leave a comment at the end of this post.  Entries must be in before midnight on 28th February 2014.  Only one entry per person, please!  The 5 winners will be selected by a random electronic draw on 01/03/14 and notified by email. Each winner will receive one Kitty Collars Personalised Cat Collar in the size and colour of their choice, and must agree to have the collar printed with personalised text.  Prizes must be claimed within 14 days of notification by email, otherwise a new winner or winners will be selected. Sorry, but this giveaway is only open to addresses within the UK!

Kitty Collars Personalised Cat Collars are made from soft nylon for your cat’s comfort, and each collar has an individually-tested breakaway safety buckle.  The 5 lucky readers who win a collar will be able to choose from 11 different colours!
